A Step-By-Step Guide To Choosing Your Best 3 Wheel Pushchair

Best 3 Wheel Pushchairs

All-terrain pushchair that provides lightweight durability and great maneuverability. The compact fold with one hand makes it simple to carry. It also stands on its own when folded. The padded seat reclines to an almost flat position and there's a large storage bin and canopy. Baby suitability: Yes, with a separate carrycot (not suitable for sleep over).

A good suspension and air-filled tires will allow you to navigate the rough terrain. You can also use it for jogging. However, you should wait until the baby is at minimum 6 or 9 months old.

Ickle Bubba Air

This lightweight pushchair from Ickle Bubba comes with a variety of features that parents will enjoy. This travel system includes an adjustable carrycot that can be folded flat for infants as well as a dual-position forward and rear facing pushchair seat.

The XL Air is a really impressive car and it's simple to see why it has been awarded so many praises from its customers. It's incredibly light - the chassis and wheels weigh only 6.5kg and it's extremely simple to build. In fact I was able get the whole thing up and running in less than five minutes, which is pretty amazing given that it included the tying of the fabric to the carrycot!

It has a comfortable wide, comfortable seat that was comfortable for Annie (who is 12 months) and the recline lever is simple to use. The basket has plenty of room and I like that the handle bar features an area to keep your phone and keys safe.

The only downside is that the handlebar is low, which could be a problem for taller parents. It's covered in a soft, comfy leather-like material, which is easy to wipe down.

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is for parents who enjoy exploring and are always on the go. The large pneumatic wheels are designed to be used on field and forest paths and the front wheel can be swivelled and locked for additional versatility. It also has a padded 5-point safety harness and a front bar to keep your little one safe throughout your journey while the parking brake reliably prevents the stroller from moving even when you are taking a break. The comfortable seat is simple to adjust down to a lying position, and the canopy opens up with netting to ensure maximum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30cm to fit mom or dad.

No matter if you're taking a quick jog or a hike that lasts a while The Runner is ready to accompany you on all your adventures with a fully-flat lie-flat seat and suspension air wheels that promise a bump-free ride. The front wheel can be locked for greater stability on narrow streets or overcrowded sidewalks.  3 wheel buggy  can also fold up to fit in car boot spaces or storage areas.

The Runner 2 is a bit more difficult to navigate for some parents than its predecessor. Additionally, the locking system (requiring two buttons on either side of the handlebar) is less user-friendly. The handlebar is a little higher than the ones of competitors and therefore it may not suit shorter parents however, overall it's a sturdy and versatile stroller worth a look for families with active children.

Red Kite Push Me moving

The Pace is another great offering from Red Kite, an affordable British brand which is known for its well-designed and no-fuss parenting essentials. It's their newest and most expensive addition to their budget-friendly stroller line. Like the Ickle Bubba Aurora or Yoyo it's car seat compatible, meaning you can use from birth.

The new Pace boasts some fantastic design elements, like a rose gold tint to the hood, chassis and stroller trims, which really set it apart from its competitors. The grey, tan and cream fabrics used in the stroller as well as the car seat are super fashionable and there's the option of adding the handle for the cover and bumper bar, too.

It is suitable from birth up to a max weight of 22kg and the stroller seat easily converts from the carrycot to a 2-in-1 reversible mode, facing the parent or the world. The stroller seat features multiple lie-back positions, comfortable padded leg rests, and an extendable sun canopy with hidden zip sections with a view-through flap, and a retractable visor.

What's more, when it's folded, the Pace is 56 33 x 43 x 32cm, which is enough to qualify as hand luggage with Easyjet and Ryanair, among others. It's also simple to fold, thanks to two buttons on the handlebar's opposite side that you can click into and pop up.

Bugaboo Fox 5

Designed to be the ultimate all-terrain pushchair Bugaboo's latest Fox 5 promises to do everything. Its unique chassis comes with shorter wheel length that makes it more maneuverable than its predecessor. I tried it out alongside my two kids - an infant and an eight week old - over rocky pavements as well as woodland walks that are grassy and even cobblestones.

The puncture-proof wheels are big - 22cm and 30cm - which means they can handle lots of different terrains. The wheels have flaps that can be opened or closed to let more air in when required. It's slightly larger than most pushchairs, yet does not feel heavy or bulky when you push it across bumpy surfaces.

The fabric for the seat is machine washable and the faux leather frames and grips are easy to clean. It's also quieter than other pushchairs and I felt at ease using it in busy urban streets. A bonus feature is that it has integrated accessory points, which means you can put in footmuffs, parasols, changing bags and even a snack tray. You can also use the hood to block out rain and wind, but it isn't particularly waterproof. It's a single stroller, but you can attach their Comfort Wheeled Board (not included) to give your child more legroom. The bassinet took around 20 minutes to set-up, and it took a similar time to convert it into a seat.

UPPAbaby Ridge

If you're looking forward to running in the morning crisp air or a moonlit stroll under the stars, the UPPAbaby Ridge makes every moment a memorable one. This stroller that is all-terrain designed to keep you and your child engaged.

The massive 12" and 16" foam-filled tires give you a smooth ride, no matter the terrain. The suspension technology is patent-pending, allowing you to glide along woodland paths with minimal impact on your child's legs and rear. And the reliable hand brake with a performance disc allows you to stop quickly, even when running downhill.

From bustling farmers markets to street performers playing a tune The Ridge is able to navigate your favorite city scenes effortlessly. Its spacious basket accommodates your shopping cart and everything else your baby needs and the spacious canopy offers sun and wind protection. The canopy on the front can be unzipped to reveal two mesh peekaboos, which allow you to watch your baby.

The Ridge's reversible seat lets you choose whether your child is facing you, or the world in front. Its simple foot brake system makes it intuitive for parents who are new. A fantastic feature is the reversible handlebar, which allows you to adjust it to your height and preferences. The Ridge's fold, unlike many strollers, is stable and self-standing when folded.

iCandy Core

The new pushchair from iCandy is truly revolutionary and comes with a host of features that are really likely to impress parents. It comes with a multi-mode wheelbase as well as an LED Visibility Hub light that is an industry first. It features an integrated Ride-on Board that helps reduce future costs and lets tired toddlers accompany their parents during outings.

The Core is available as an entire travel system or as a single seat. It is compatible with the most popular car seats, such as the ones from Cybex Maxi Cosi Joie. It also comes with the largest seat in the iCandy range, which means it will last you through your baby's first years and beyond. It's a beautifully constructed pushchair, and it has premium knitted fabrics. The child's removable bumper bar and the parent's adjustable handlebar are made of soft leatherette. The calf support that folds away is also very comfortable for children.

It was impressive how easily it folded and collapsed, even with the seat unit attached. It can easily fit in your boot or hallway and is ideal for travel. The iCandy Core includes a variety of accessories, like a matching changing rucksack or footmuff/liner.
